Safety Instructions

At Borea, each candle is designed to offer a controlled sensory experience.

However, a flame is still a flame.

Following these instructions will allow you to fully enjoy your ritual, in complete safety.

Essential Rules

  • Never leave a lit candle unattended
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets
  • Always place the candle on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface
  • Keep away from any flammable objects (curtains, wood, paper, textiles, etc.)
  • Do not move a lit or still-hot candle

Before each use

  • Trim the wick to about 5 mm
  • Ensure the candle surface is clean (no dust or debris)
  • Make sure the candle is stable

During combustion

  • Avoid drafts
  • Maintain sufficient space between multiple candles (minimum 10 cm)

Extinction

  • Prefer a candle snuffer to avoid smoke and splashes
  • Never blow too hard
  • Check that the flame is completely extinguished

Specific precautions

  • Sculptural candles may drip: use a suitable holder
  • Do not let the candle burn down completely
  • Stop use when approximately 1 cm of wax remains
